Bans Off Our Bodies is a national campaign led by abortion rights supporters. Bans Off Our Bodies rallies across the United States are intended to send a message loud and clear: All people deserve access to abortion when they need it and in the community they live in.
Bans Off Our Bodies grew out of an increased need to collectively mobilize against abortion bans in the face of the Supreme Court case Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a challenge to Mississippi’s unconstitutional 15-week abortion ban. The court plans to end the federal constitutional right to abortion by overturning Roe v. Wade, the 1973 case that granted the right to legal abortion. The ruling is expected any day now.
If the Supreme Court takes away our federal constitutional right to abortion, half the states in the country could move quickly to ban abortion. And, anti-abortion groups are gearing up to ban abortion nationwide.
But this movement is not backing down. We’re built for this fight.
